Players in a scrum to drown sorrows

A host of Welsh rugby stars picked one of Dublin's best-known venues to drown their sorrows after their hammering by Ireland at the weekend.

The rugby hunks, including Niall Horan's new 'frenemy' Mike Phillips, made their way to Harcourt Street haunt Krystle on Saturday night where they downed champagne and were treated to some vodka drinks.

Defeated players Jamie Roberts (above), Alex Cuthbert, Toby Faletau, Paul James and Andrew Coombes also joined Phillips in the club's VIP area.

Following the tough clash, the lads were kept well watered with management treating them to free champagne and vodka as plenty of female admirers looked on.

The players stayed in the club until the early hours and there was good banter between them and Irish fans, according to club sources.

"Despite the loss, the lads didn't seem too down in the dumps and were having good craic," an onlooker told the Diary. "They were really chatty and were stopping for photos and having a laugh about the game."
