Peaches poses with baby she was told she'd never have

PEACHES Geldof looks every inch the doting mum as she poses with her gorgeous six-month-old son Astala.

The 23-year-old has just revealed that prior to having Astala --Bob Geldof's grandson -- she was told she would never be able to have children.

Her baby hopes were dashed three years ago when she was rushed to hospital after an ectopic pregnancy.

"I was told if I had left it even three more days I would have died. But I had to have an operation and the doctor told me he'd have to remove my fallopian tube. I was crying and begging him not to. When I woke up, he told me he'd saved the tube but it was badly damaged and my chances of having kids had gone from slim to almost non-existent."

Astala, who was born in April to Peaches and rock singer husband Tom Cohen, defied that grim medical prediction and Peaches posted pictures of her healthy son on her Twitter page.

The young mother says her hospital ordeal with the ectopic pregnancy destroyed her relationship at the time and left her suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

She even considered freezing her eggs to protect her fertility.
