Pat gets the chop ... to launch carnival

THERE'S no shortage of Dublin GAA fans who'd like to give Kerry legend Pat Spillane the chop.

And the All-Ireland winning star faced that very ordeal to help launch the Kenmare Food Carnival.

Good sport Pat donned a pig costume to announce that he will be among the well-known faces who are expected to enjoy the Kenmare Food Carnival.

Kenmare has for many years been known for it's outstanding food and has been hailed as one of Ireland's food capitals.

The July carnival aims to showcase all that Kenmare has to offer, from award winning restaurants to local producers, five star dining to charming cafes, delicious deli's and bustling bakeries.

The three-day festival is set to take place from July 13 to 15.

The town of Kenmare is situated on two famous tourist trails -- The Ring of Kerry and The Ring of Beara.
