Outback to catwalk - Laura signs with top model agency

LAURA Whitmore's got the face.

The I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now! host has signed with top UK modelling agency Select Models.

The 27-year-old presenter shared the news with her loyal Twitter followers, telling them in a somewhat subdued tone that she thought the prospect of working with Select was "kinda cool".

"I'm excited to announce I've joined Select Agency for all model work," the Bray native said. "That's kinda cool."

So it looks like Ms Whitmore could be swapping creepy crawlies for the catwalk in next to no time. Select is one of the world's top modelling agencies with Mischa Barton (right), Mollie King, Sarah Harding and Pearl Lowe all on their books.

Laura is cultivating a bit of a name for herself as a style icon. She's constantly topping best-dressed polls with her rock-chick dress sense and is becoming a front-row regular at London Fashion Week.

But while Laura is normally fashion confident, she needed a little help when it came to choosing the almost two dozen outfits she needed for the ITV2 programme I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here Now!

"I have 21 outfits for I'm A Celebrity," Laura told The Diary. "Shopping for one outfit is stressful enough, so I really needed some help buying 21. I normally style myself but I have a great stylist called Angie Smith. She styled Dannii Minogue on the X Factor. She's good at making me try things I wouldn't ordinarily try."

Since arriving in the Outback, the star has started a Twitter Style Diary. Laura keeps fans up to date with where she gets her fashion wares.

But unlike other Irish TV presenters, such as Sharon Corr, Laura has yet to wear any clothing by Irish designers. Instead, the bubbly blonde is sticking to high-street favourites Topshop and All Saints.

"Style and fashion are really important to me," Laura told The Diary. "I like to have fun with clothes; it's an expression of who you are. I like the creativity of it all."

Laura is spending the next five weeks in Australia filming. And the star said she hopes this year that veteran presenting duo Ant and Dec will do some bushtucker trials.

"I don't know how they've got away with it," she said. "They've never done a proper bushtucker trial. I have and it's just my second year. I don't know how they do it.

"My alarm goes off 10.30 at night, I'm picked up at midnight and I'm on set at 1am," Laura told the Diary. "It's intense, we have no days off.

"The good thing is that you wrap at 9am which is nice. And then you're having a glass of wine at 10am," she laughed.

And she seemed to be enjoying a cocktail or two after Monday night's show. The star posted a photo of herself sipping a cool Margherita in a white bikini.

"So this is what we do after the show," she wrote.
