COULD the force be with Jonathan Rhys Meyers?
The Irish actor has been tipped for a role in the new Star Wars sequel.
Rhys Meyers (35) is reportedly in talks to appear in Episode VII of the franchise.
The film will be directed by JJ Abrams, who was behind the latest Star Trek hits and also directed Meyers in Mission: Impossible III.
Corkman Meyers is best known for playing Henry VIII in the racy TV series, The Tudors.
If he did land a part, he would be following in the footsteps of fellow Irishman Liam Neeson, who played Gui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
Episode VII is expected to follow on from 1983's Return Of The Jedi. It is expected to feature original stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in their roles as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo.
