One year on...Karen still hasn't moved into new home

IT'S almost a year since she collected the keys to her Blackrock pad but TV3 star Karen Koster still hasn't moved in.

The glamorous Xpose presenter, who signed on the dotted line to purchase her first property last April, explained she was hoping to be installed in her new south Dublin home by the end of the month after a lengthy refurbishment process.

Karen, who is set to turn 30 later this year, told the Herald she was still in the process of painting and decorating the house and had her fingers crossed that it would finally be completed in the coming weeks.

And while the blonde beauty is still very much loved up with her property advisor boyfriend John McGuire, she insists the couple are still happy to live independently for the moment.

Despite rumours that wedding bells could be on the horizon for the high profile couple, Karen insists there was no sign of a diamond ring under her Christmas tree this year.

"It's just me moving in. I've been saving for it for years and worked hard for it," Karen explained.

"I still haven't moved in, I'm hoping I'll be there by the end of the month. I'm still in the middle of painting and decorating at the moment but we're nearly there."

The bubbly presenter has had plenty of help along the way with her mother helping to pick the colour scheme.

John, who hosted RTE's series I'm An Adult Get Me Out of Here, has been busy getting his new co-owned business venture Dax Cafe/Bar off the ground.

The ambitious entrepreneur still has his own property portfolio but has been busy focusing on putting the new bar on the map.

According to the entertainment reporter: "It's all going really well, they're very happy with it, thank God.

"It's a tapas bar so they're just working on changing the menu up a bit at the moment."

John co-opened the wine and tapas bar alongside Olivier Meisonnave, the proprietor of popular restaurant Dax, which is located underneath the cafe/bar on Pembroke Street.

"It's really exciting. Obviously John had a mortgage business before and it's just not sustainable at the moment," Karen explained.

"He's not worried about starting a new business at all. He's such an optimistic person and such an entrepreneur that if something doesn't work out he's already moved on to the next thing,

"The way he sees it is that he's got 20 years of experience of drinking in a bar so he should be well able to run one.

"I'll be giving them my custom but I won't be pulling pints or anything like that."
