BEYONCE will be showing Irish Single Ladies who runs the world when she takes to the O2 stage this May.

That's right, Queen Bey is set to bring her biggest tour yet – the Mrs Carter Show World Tour – to Dublin on May 11 and 12.

Tickets go on sale on February 23, and if last night's Super Bowl performance is anything to go by, Irish fans are in for a show-stopping performance.

CONFIDENCE

Beyonce (31) recovered from her lip-synching Presidential inauguration controversy by taking to the American sports world's biggest stage – and this time she was singing live.

With her Destiny's Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams by her side, Beyonce set the stage alight.

The bootylicious star emerged onstage wearing an all-black leather outfit by designer Rubin Singer, teamed with Proenza Schouler knee-high boots.

Fans ran on to the pitch as she belted out several lines from hit single Love On Top.

Fire and lights burst from the sides as the singer worked the stage. After several bars, Beyonce went into her smash hit Crazy In Love.

Temperatures soared when Beyonce ripped off part of her shirt and skirt and blew the audience a kiss.

Her voice and confidence grew as she worked the stage with her Destiny's Child bandmates during the 13-minute set.

Rowland and Williams popped up from below the stage to sing Bootylicious.

But they were barely heard when the group sang Independent Woman, as their voices faded into the background, leading to some speculation on Twitter as to whether this was done to let Beyonce shine.

MADONNA

Critics agreed that Beyonce's half-time performance far outshone Madonna's set last year, and the Black Eyed Peas in 2011.

Beyonce finished her knockout showcase with Halo. She asked the crowd to put their hands towards her as she sang the song on bended knee.

"Thank you for this moment," she told them. "God bless y'all."

Before the game, Alicia Keys closed her eyes while she performed a piano-tinged version of the national anthem.

The Grammy-winning singer played the piano as she sang The Star Spangled Banner in a long red dress with her eyes shut. She followed Jennifer Hudson, who sang America the Beautiful with the 26-member Sandy Hook Elementary School chorus.

It was an emotional performance that had some players on the sideline on the verge of tears.

The students wore green ribbons on their shirts in honour of the 20 first-graders and six adults who were killed in a December 14 shooting rampage at the school in Newtown, Connecticut.
