No summer lie-ins for model teacher Emma

IT will be a case of going from one full-time job to another for model-turned-teacher Emma Waldron who cannot wait for the summer break from school.

The former Miss Ireland will forsake two months of lie-ins after securing a summer-long internship with a fashion magazine.

The Kildare-based model, who qualified as a teacher last year, has made no secret of her passion for fashion and regularly designs and models for her own style blog.

"I was offered an internship with Image Magazine and I am going to do that full-time for two months in the summer so I am really excited," Emma told the Herald.

"I really want to get a feel for working in the digital and print industry so this suits me perfectly."

Emma (25) said the fast-paced and pressurised industry will be a different experience to the classroom.

However, the Dubliner, who won Miss Ireland and Miss World Europe in 2010, said she was in no hurry to trade in her teaching career.

"I will get a good taste for the industry during the summer, but I really can't say what I would do if I was offered something permanent," she said. "I'll have to see how things go."
