No place like home for jet-setter Aidan

PRESENTER Aidan Power has shrugged off missing out on a role on RTE's The Voice.

The 98fm breakfast show host was tipped to land the role as co-presenter on the show but lost out on the gig to former TG4 presenter Eoghan McDermott.

But Aidan told the Diary that he will continue to strive for small screen success. "It's important to concentrate on radio right now but TV has always been my thing and it's never something I would give up," he said.

Aidan has ruled out moving across the water to the Britain for his TV career. The Dubliner said that although Irish presenters are starting to build careers over there, he's happy to stay at home.

"I've already been to London, I worked for the BBC and Nickelodeon but I'm very happy here. London is always there but I've got work here so I'm fine at the moment," he explained.

"The new season of Celebrity Bainisteoir is back Sunday week and I'm presenting that again which is great. Plus I have Bulletin TV, so there's enough there as it is, I don't need any more on my plate," he said.

And Aidan is certainly keeping busy as the co-host of RTE's Bulletin TV alongside Daniella Moyles.

The pair jetted to the US two weeks ago for filming and are now set to go down under for their next episode.

"We came back from our trip to Boston and New York two weeks ago and now we are heading off again to Australia next week. It's a flying visit really, we are there for a week. We're going to be in Sydney for the most part and then heading up the coast there," he explained.

But Aidan says he and the RTE crew will definitely make time to chill out during their long days of filming. "We will try and make sure we aren't working for the whole time. We will definitely manage to have some free time but even when we are working, we are having fun. Whether it's on camera or not," he said.
