MODEL Gillian Quinn and her husband Niall are relishing spending weekends together, for the first time in 22 years.
She said she's delighted to finally relax with her hubby at the end of the week, a new experience for the sports legend.
First Option beauty Gillian (38) said it has been fantastic for the couple, after two decades of constant football games.
"It's a lot more relaxing now, he wants to sit in and enjoy a home-cooked meal and a bottle of wine, that's all new because for as long as I've known him he's had football on Saturdays or Sundays," she told the Herald.
The former Ireland soccer international stepped down from his post as chairman at Sunderland AFC, a job he has held since 2006, to focus on the international development of the club overseas.
Gillian, who works as a yoga instructor near their Kildare home, said the latest change has also been brilliant for the couple's children Aisling and Michael, who now have more opportunities to spend quality time with their dad.
"The kids have noticed a big difference, because they'd be busy with school work during the week," she said.
"It's great and we're really enjoying it."
Although Niall (45) is enjoying chilling out on match days, Gillian said her hubby has been jet-setting around the globe in the past month on a number of business trips during the week.
The mum-of-two added that the only bad thing about Niall's time off is that The X Factor has been banned on Saturdays.
