The 81-year-old woman dubbed the "new Susan Boyle" on Britain’s Got Talent has already become a sensation in the United States.
Janey Cutler shot to instant fame when her rendition of Edith Piaf’s Non Je Ne Regrette Rien on Saturday’s show was called “spine-tingling and astonishing” by the judging panel.
The grandmother of 12 from Wishaw, Lanarkshire was quickly dubbed “NuBo” after Piers Morgan – one of the show’s judges – said of her performance: “I’ve never heard anything like it”.
Almost 100,000 people have watched the video of her debut on YouTube, while US television networks including NBC and CBS have asked ITV for footage of the performance.
An ITV source told The Mirror: "The US networks are clamouring for a slice of Janey – they all want to be the first to sign her up.
"We are being besieged with requests from America offering to fly her first class if she'll come on their show.”
Susan Boyle became a household name around the world when footage of her debut on last year’s Britain’s Got Talent was screened in the US.
Miss Cutler said she was not letting the comparisons with last year’s feted finalist go to her head. “I take no notice of all the fuss,” she said.
“I’m over the moon just to have been able to perform on the programme. This unexpected interest is making it even more of a dream come true.”
Another contestant on Saturday night’s show also basked in Miss Boyle’s reflected glory after revealing she is the Scottish singer’s second cousin.
Kerry-Anne Boyle told the judges that her grandfather and Miss Boyle’s father were brothers, but admitted she had never met her second cousin.
But, despite the family connection, her performance of the Sting hit Fields of Gold drew mixed reactions from the judging panel.
Amanda Holden told the 23-year-old: “It’s clearly genetic, you’ve got the Boyle factor,” while Piers Morgan said: “It was an incredibly good performance.”
But Simon Cowell was less impressed, telling the younger Miss Boyle: “I think that without the connection to Susan there wouldn’t really be much interest to be honest”.
Both Miss Boyle and Mrs Cutler made it through to the next round of the talent show.
