My Rosanna's no dumb blonde, says proud dad Chris

ROSANNA DAVISON'S dad has said that he is the proudest father in the world.

Chris De Burgh says that while people might dismiss the former Miss World as a dumb blonde, nothing could be further from the truth.

She is one of Ireland's biggest models and has legions of male fans across the world and Chris says he has backed her all the way – including for her controversial appearance on the cover of Playboy.

"I have great admiration for what she has done, she is not just a dumb blonde," Chris told the Herald.

"She finished her three-year course in biomedicine, she's a great person."

The Lady in Red singer will have the pleasure of walking the 29-year-old down the aisle next summer when Rosanna marries her long-time love, Wesley Quirke.

Rosanna has hinted that the wedding will take place abroad in summer 2014 and that the couple will shun a large figure magazine deal.

And Chris admits that he may shed a tear or two.

"I will be a proud father, because I am very proud of Rosanna and what she has achieved."

Chris, who recorded his new album The Handsome Man in February, returned from France last week where he completed a 10-week tour of Europe.

Meanwhile, Rosanna was delighted when she finished her final exam in her biomedicine degree course and is looking forward to finishing up this weekend.

"I still have one final day but otherwise I am finished," Rosanna told the Herald.

"I had to turn down work to enable me to study so I'm off to London to the Elton John White Tie and Tiara Ball and then I will work at Berlin Fashion Week."

Chris and Rosanna stepped out for the launch of food critic and writer Paolo Tulio's book, Longing And Belonging, on Monday night.
