My pals know better than to set me up on dates, says Kathryn

SHE'S been back on the singles market for almost a year.

But RTE star Kathryn Thomas says she won't be asking friends and family to set her up on blind dates anytime soon.

"My friends know better than to set me up on dates," she told the Herald. "Much better."

Kathryn and her partner of five years Enda Waters split last July.

Since then the Carlow native has been spending time holidaying with friends, enjoying marathon sprints with her gal pals Sile Seoige and Clodagh McKenna, and dropping it like it's hot at Beyonce gigs.

But Kathryn says she's always been a girl about town, and the end of her relationship has nothing to do with her increasing social butterfly status.

"I don't think I've changed at all to be honest," the 34-year-old said. "I've always loved the nights out with the girls."

The past few months have been fairly hectic, so last week Kathryn took some time off to recover from the madness that was The Voice Of Ireland.

"I'm just back from a sun holiday near Vilamoura in Portugal," she says. "And in July I'll be heading over to LA to visit my sister.

"I always make sure to have a few meetings lined up when I go to LA though just to see the lay of the land out there. But I have no intention to move."

This series of The Voice Of Ireland smashed last year's ratings but winner Keith Hanley's single Beggin' performed disappointingly in the iTunes charts – reaching Number 37.

"I was disappointed for Keith. I just hope he gets the exposure and the right sort of backing he deserves."

The super-fit presenter was talking at the launch of All-Bran's Beat The Bloat challenge.

"It's important to take care of the inside," Kathryn said.
