Move to Britain may be on cards for Brian

RTE star Brian Ormond could be forced overseas if a permanent role doesn't become available with RTE.

The Dublin presenter, who is to marry his model girlfriend Pippa O'Connor next summer, explained how he has reluctantly begun pursuing television work in London.

Brian, who is dad to 10-year-old Chloe from a previous relationship, insists that a permanent move across the water will only be a very last resort.

The former You're A Star contestant and host presented kids' show Ice, but the show was axed in an overhaul of the children's television department.

"The work is definitely harder to come by now but ideally I would really love to stay working with RTE," he told the Diary.

"In this business you never know what's coming next. If a TV job comes up in London then I won't say no but I'd prefer to stay in Dublin," he added.

Brian is currently busy organising a charity golf tournament in aid of close friend Ken Murray, whose father passed away from motor neurone disease.

The event will take place at Palmerstown House in Johnstown, Co Kildare, on Thursday, August 19.

Among the well-known names who will take part in the event, which will feature 40 teams, are former rugby player Shay Byrne, Rob Ross, Gerald Kean, Craig Doyle, Keith Duffy and Nicky Byrne.
