Model Hannah is off to London to follow dream

ANOTHER day and another Irish model is going to London in the hope of making it big.

Former Britain and Ireland Next Top Model contestant Hannah Devane is packing her bags, the Herald can reveal.

A year after she achieved notoriety on the Sky television show, Hannah is heading back to the UK.

"I've decided to go to London," the 20-year-old brunette said. "It's a little scary but I'm looking forward to it."

AR Model Hannah, who shot to fame as one of the finalists on Elle Macpherson's show, has now signed with 1st models in the UK. It is one of the top agencies in London and already Celebrity Bainisteoir star Rozanna Purcell on their books.

"I went over for a casting and got signed with them straight away," she said.

Hannah said her mum was a bit shocked when she suddenly informed her she was leaving.

"My sister actually moved out three weeks ago and my mum kept making all these jokes about how she couldn't wait for me to move out. Then I turned around and said I'm moving to London and she looked so shocked."

But Hannah says her mum fully supports her decision. "She spent some time in London when she was around my age so she knows it will be a great experience."

The Ballsbridge native admitted she was nervous. "It's my first time ever living away from home. But I feel like that's an incentive to do it. It's a good thing to challenge yourself," she said.

Hannah will be leaving her Serbian-born boyfriend, Memanja Bukanic, behind but says they will stay together.

"He's finished his studies so he's been applying for jobs. He's not coming over with me. But he is going to visit 10 days after I leave."

Hannah will be staying with her aunt until she finds her feet. "I'll definitely stay there until Christmas and then decide if I want to make it a permanent move."
