MISSING out on a slot in Kian Egan and Louis Walsh's new girlband has been a blessing in disguise for model and singer Michele McGrath, who will support chart-toppers JLS at the O2 tonight.
The brunette (23), who was overlooked for the soon-to-be- launched fivesome in 2008, claims that being pipped to the post by former You're A Star songstress Sharon Condon drove her to work harder.
The Assets beauty said she had no regrets about not being part of the yet to be named girlband, which features Kian's wife Jodi Albert, given that her own career was now going from strength to strength.
Ambitious Michele said supporting a hugely popular act such as JLS in front of a sellout crowd of more than 10,000 with her band Industry, had always been her ultimate dream.
"I'm really, really happy now," she told the Herald. "We're doing great, the work has been coming in and we're getting our name out there.
"I mean, who would have thought that I'd be sharing the same stage as JLS? We're supporting them at the O2 in Dublin and then in Belfast. Of course it's a dream come true.
"I've only met them once before but they seem like really great guys and they're always up for a laugh. I'm very excited about hanging out with them for the few days.
"I have no regrets about anything. Everything happens for a reason," she said of missing out on Louis and Kian's band.
"If anything, I'm more determined now. I've come so far and I'm too positive to let it get me down.
"I never thought that I would be able to say that Louis Walsh and Kian Egan even knew my name. They gave me so much advice," she added.
Skerries native Michele, who has been dating her Welsh rugby beau Mark Siddons (24) for nine months, said he had no qualms about letting her out on the town with hunky JLS lotharios Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan "JB" Gill and Oritse Williams
"He doesn't mind at all, he understands how the business works and would never have any reason to be jealous," she said.
"He has to be in Rome, where he is based full time, this weekend so he won't get to see us unfortunately."
