HANKIES at the ready. Former X Factor star Melanie McCabe plans on penning a selection of weepy ballads.
"I like heartfelt songs," she told The Diary. "Songs that are from the heart. I want to write and sing about the experiences in my life.
"Because I have been through a lot that people that don't know about.
"There have been ups and downs so whatever songs I sing or write I'll be putting that into it them. It's a good way to express yourself."
Tears and sweeping scores? It's true what they say; you can take the girl out of The X Factor but you can't take The X Factor out of the girl.
The 20-year-old is currently flitting between Ireland and the UK.
"I go over and sing and then fly home," she said.
"I'm also trying to get a bit of presenting work. It's crazy since X Factor ended because I'm getting a lot of offers in so I've been trying to decide what to do."
Melanie was one of the many names in the mix to replace Aisling O'Loughlin on Xpose.
"I would love to do Xpose but we'll see how it goes."
With so much on her plate, she has no time for fellas.
"Boys fecking wreck your head," she said.
"I got 60 marriage proposals this year. But I'm happy to be single. I'm only 20 – I want to have fun."
