Meet Madeline - the Bandits' 'bridesmaid' beauty

SHE’S the beautiful face who stars in the Youtube sensation Rubberbandits’ video.

The chav bridesmaid from the Horse Outside clip has become the most talked-about woman in the country.

And Madeline Mulqueen is set to become the country’s most sought-after model as the song shoots towards the Christmas Number One spot.

The Rubberbandits will appear on tonight’s Late Late Show, but in true RTE style, will not be allowed to perform their song. The show said it didn’t have a slot for the band to perform what is the biggest song in Ireland in a generation.

As Ryan Tubridy and RTE set themselves up for an embarrassing night, Madeline is going from strength to strength.

The 20-year-old Limerick brunette, who catches the eye of Blind Boy and Mr Chrome in the Horse Outside video, has been blown away by its success.

“The public reaction has been phenomenal. It's been fantastic to get two million hits,” she told the Herald.

While Madeline isn’t expected to join the hip hop sensations on tonight’s show, she is still on a high from the band’s newfound success.

“It was a great to feature in The Rubberbandits music video, which was as much fun as it looked.

“I was a bridesmaid at my best friend Amanda's wedding,” she laughed.

“I was wondering why the cameras were there, actually.”

She added: “You know what they say – always the bridesmaid, never the bride. All I can say to those single ladies out there is never give up.”

The model, who hails from Ballybrown in Limerick, hopes she can carve out a career in acting, and said it would be “amazing” to beat X Factor's Matt Cardle to the Christmas number one.

Madeline joked that she'll “obviously buy a horse” if the song reaches number one.

More than 9,000 people have signed up to the Facebook page “The Bridesmaid in the Rubberbandits 'Horse Outside' video” in support of Madeline.

But she explained that the day of shooting the video with the boys was crazy, with fights erupting in the church.

Madeline is no stranger to the spotlight, having bid for the Miss Limerick crown last year. Although she was beaten by winner Becky Costello, she still caught the eye of Limerick-based agent Martina Costello.
