Madeline ready to rock for her big screen debut in Hendrix biopic

COME Dine With Me Star Madeline Mulqueen is hoping to hit the big screen.

The Herald can reveal that the Limerick model has auditioned for a film on the life and times of rock star Jimi Hendrix.

The film, which will star Andre 2000 from Outkast, will be filmed in Dublin. Filming is expected to get under way in the capital soon.

Directors of the film have held auditions in Dublin for the past few days and a number of actresses and actors have been trying out for roles in the independent biopic of the rocker.

Madeline confirmed that she had been called by producers to audition for the film -- and is now awaiting word as to how she got on. The Limerick star, who is now based in Dublin, is hoping to build on her acting career.

Since her starring role in the Rubberbandits' video for Horse Outside, her career has been on the up.

Signed to modelling agency Morgan, Madeline is a much sought-after model and most recently appeared in TV3's Celebrity Come Dine With Me alongside VIP publisher and Herald columnist Michael O'Doherty, model Pippa O'Connor, retired international rugby player Shane Byrne and golfer Rory McIlroy's ex, Holly Sweeney.
