EVA Longoria was the big attraction at an LA awards ceremony glittering with stars.
The Desperate Houswives star was hosting the Alma Awards, which celebrate the success of Latin American stars and sporting heroes in the US.
And she struck a defiant note.
"With the ALMAs we are not second-best celebrities," Longoria said in an interview just days before the show. "Our celebrities are on the level of everyone else. Latinos are wildly successful and globally successful. We want everybody to see that," she said. And the guest-list showed that. Jake Gylenhall, Ugly Betty's America Ferrera, Heroes star Dania Ramirez and Christina Aguilera were at the glittering night in Pasadena, LA County.
