Love-split Andrea's back to work . . . at wedding fair

ANDREA Roche is keeping a dignified silence after the breakdown of her marriage to PJ Mansfield.

However, the 32-year-old has found solace and comfort in her close family and friends as she comes to terms with the end of her nine-year relationship.

She has told pals she's "very sad" about the end of her union with the Mansfield heir, but is determined to keep it a private affair for now.

The beauty pageant organiser declined to comment on the split when contacted by the Herald.

Yet the former model was forced to put on a brave face over the weekend as she had to attend a packed wedding fair in Limerick on the same day that news of her split was revealed.

"Andrea just wants to keep her cards extremely close to her heart when it comes to this. She is a high-profile person, she's well-known in Ireland, but when any marriage breaks down, it's always going to be a very personal thing," said a friend.

"She's lucky to have a good circle of friends and family around her who have been helping her through everything.

"She and PJ are still really good friends and remain on good terms. There's absolutely no acrimony between them -- it's just one of those things where they grew apart.

"She was only 24 when she met him and they've been through a lot together.

"They tried to make things work but in the end, the marriage couldn't be saved and the hard decision was made to part ways."

Ironically, on the day the news broke about her marital split, the former Miss Ireland was working at a wedding fair in Limerick.

"She was booked to work ages ago and there's no way she could have pulled out -- that's not her style," the pal continued.

"She was surrounded by lots of blushing brides-to-be and it was a tough day but she got through it. She just wants to move on with her life and get through the next few months."

One of Ireland's best-known beauties, she married the son of Jim Mansfield at a glittering ceremony nearly four years ago. They swapped vows at a ceremony in Saggart Church in August 2006, when Andrea walked down the aisle in a designer Monique Lhuillier dress, with a reception afterwards in the Mansfield's Palmerstown House.

She and PJ were one of the social scene's best-known couples and were regular fixtures at many of the most high-profile events over the years.

However, they decided a few months ago that things just weren't working between them with Andrea moving out into an apartment on her own.

Since then, she has been keeping a very low profile as she comes to terms with the split, but has vowed to remain on good terms with her ex.
