Louis bags magazine deal to show off €2m Miami mansion

X Factor judge Louis Walsh will shortly open the doors of his €2m Miami penthouse to give a UK glossy the first look inside his palatial pad.

The Herald can reveal how the Westlife manager will be adding some serious zeros to his already bulging bank account after signing a deal for an "at home" photoshoot with a British magazine.

The move has come as a surprise to some in his inner circle, given how he usually shies away from the cameras when he's not working and he has never before done photographs inside his South Beach bolthole.

However, the mag apparently made him an "offer he couldn't refuse" to show off his luxury home.

"Miami is his favourite place in the world to be when he's not working on the bands or on X Factor. He can totally chill out and just wander around without anyone bothering him for autographs or pictures," said an insider.

"It's his little escape from the whole showbiz world. But he has lavished a lot of money and effort into making it a real head-turning showhouse and he's proud of the work he has put in. When he was offered a great deal to do a shoot at home, he thought why not?"

The Mayo mogul (57) jetted off to the sunshine state yesterday morning and to spend the next few weeks relaxing before returning home for the next stage of the X Factor series.

He usually flies over to stay at his Miami apartment twice a year as he unwinds from the pressures of his hectic lifestyle and won't have another break until next January.

Situated on the most exclusive stretch of South Beach and beside his favourite haunt of the Delano Hotel, his penthouse boasts picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean. The exit of the upmarket complex leads directly on to the beach.

A keen lover of art, the walls of his pad are strewn with expensive paintings and priceless memorabilia.

Speaking previously about his apartment, he said he "can't think of anywhere I'd rather be than here".
