GERRY Ryan's daughter Lottie is following in her late father's footsteps, after landing an exclusive interview with Westlife.
The Herald can reveal how the eldest daughter of the legendary broadcaster is proving she is a chip off the old block when it comes to her budding career in entertainment.
The brunette stunner (25) nabbed an interview with the chart-topping boyband after securing backstage access to their O2 Dublin gig for the first of five gigs there.
The fact that her dad also interviewed the four stars for his Ryan Confidential TV show in 2007 made it all the more poignant.
"She was really excited to meet them, she's been a big fan of theirs for a while and the fact that her dad interviewed them before made it all the more special," said a source.
"She was chatting to them about what it's like being back on tour and catching up on all the gossip with them. It was a great interview to get and shows that she's starting to spread her wings a little bit more."
The petite reporter was quizzing Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan on their latest news as part of her job as entertainment correspondent for RTE's The Daily Show, a slot that airs every Monday.
Co-presented by Daithi O Se and Claire Byrne, she landed the coveted gig with her father's former employers last September and described it as her dream role.
"I'm focusing totally on this at the moment. I know it's only a couple of minutes I do, but I really want to make them my own, and try to really show that I'm taking it seriously, that I'm cherishing those couple of minutes. It's so not often that something you're looking for actually turns up for you," she said.
The best-known of the Ryan children, she has become something of a regular on the social scene in recent times.
