Little Romeo's a model son

TREND it like Beckham -- Romeo Beckham (10) has made his modelling debut for Burberry.

The schoolboy, who is the second eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham (inset), is the face of the British label in their latest campaign.

Wearing a trenchcoat, carrying an umbrella and with a confidence that belies his tender years, the young schoolboy sports a wide grin as he casually pulls up his coat collar and strolls onto the set.

Playing around with his umbrella, Romeo is seen balancing on one leg while wearing a classic Burberry coat.

The end of the advertisement features a close-up of Romeo's side profile as he gazes towards the camera.

Burberry's chief creative officer, Christopher Bailey, described Romeo as "a joy to work with".

"This season's campaign lights up with the infectious energy of an amazing young cast of old and new Burberry family.

"We had such fun shooting the campaign and I think that comes through in the images which really reflect the upbeat spirit of the collection."

The campaign was shot by top photographer Mario Testino.

While there's no doubt that Romeo is a natural in front of the camera, it remains to be seen whether men will covet a coat worn by a model who was born in 2002.

But no doubt his proud parents will only be too happy to offer advice to Romeo should he decide to pursue a career in fashion.

His footballer dad David has featured in many a fashion campaign, and his Spice Girl mum Victoria is now a designer, with her collections hailed by fashion critics and consumers alike.

Young Romeo appears to have a natural sense of style. At the age of eight, the schoolboy beat Prince William and actor Jude Law when he was placed 26th in GQ's Best Dressed list.

And according to the judges, Romeo is following his own path, and not copying that of his father.

GQ described Romeo as "frighteningly tuned-in".

David Walker-Smith, director of menswear at Selfridges, said: "Romeo is experimental, quirky and fun, and his style has nothing mini-me about it. It's me-me."

The 10-year-old is a big fan of boyband The Wanted and mum and dad had them play at his tenth birthday party earlier this year.

His father David (37) recently left LA Galaxy and speculation abounds that the family are going to relocate to London.
