Laura joins the Speakeasy set

HIGH-flying socialite Laura Haughey is joining the growing list of gorgeous hostesses greeting VIPs in one of the capital's trendiest bars.

The Diary can reveal that the glamorous fashionista, a former daughter-in-law of Charles Haughey, has landed a job in the Exchange Bar at the Westin Hotel.

Laura, who was once married to Charles's son Ciaran, will be making her debut at the star-studded launch of the new Speakeasy Nights in the luxurious city centre bar tonight.

A source revealed: "Laura is very excited about her new role in the Exchange Bar and can't wait to get started.

"The bar is going to bring a whole new 'Speakeasy' vibe to Dublin nightlife with funky sounds from DJ Owen Clarke, live percussion and sax and signature cocktails inspired by forgotten recipes from Speakeasy days."

Speakeasy is the latest trend sweeping the nocturnal playgrounds of the world and represents an infatuation with the days of Prohibition.

A host of familiar faces are expected to attend the launch of Speakeasy Nights there tonight including restaurateur Ronan Ryan (top), model and TV presenter Gillian Quinn (centre), Ciaran Haughey and Pat McNamara, Miss Ireland Emma Waldron (bottom), Mr World Kamal Ibrahim, Nuala Carey, Suzanne McCabe and actor Liam Cunningham.
