Laura breaks her silence on hunky model beau David

MTV presenter Laura Whitmore has broken her silence about her blossoming romance with hunky Dolce and Gabbana model David Gandy.

The Bray beauty, who is on home soil this week to film links from Dublin for the music channel, has confirmed that she is enjoying a new relationship, but was reluctant to reveal too much.

The 25-year-old, who admits she hates to see her personal life making headlines, went on to explain how even her mother didn't know about her new beau, who is said to be one of the highest paid male models in the world, until it was revealed exclusively in the Diary.

"There is a nice guy in my life at the moment and it's going well but that's all I want to say on it," Laura said.

"I hate talking about my personal life. My mom rings up and tells me she had read I was going out with someone in a newspaper.

"I keep telling her not to be reading the papers and just talk to me on the phone instead," she laughed.

The ambitious blonde can also celebrate another boost to her career this week after beating off competition from several other TV beauties to co-host the Arthur's Day Celebrations at the Guinness Storehouse alongside comedian Patrick Kielty.

The programme will be shown on both ITV and TV3, while busy Laura will also film links for MTV on the day.

"We'll be meeting everyone from Westlife to The Script to Biffy Clyro. I've met most of the bands that are performing in London, but it will be nice to interview them in Dublin."
