Kate's old flame Pete returns to our shores

We'll have the ex-boyfriend of Kate Moss in our midst this month when Pete Doherty performs at the Roisin Dubh in Galway, according to a Diary mole.

The former Babyshambles star and party-loving performer left Irish fans hugely disappointed after he was forced to postpone his performance at the Heineken Green Spheres show last October.

A statement from his manager at the time said he had been admitted to hospital suffering from "exhaustion and breathing difficulties", meaning his gig had to be put on the long finger.

But he's obviously ready to take to the stage again, given that he has confirmed he'll be playing at the legendary Galway venue on January 21, with organisers promising that all tickets from his October concert are still valid for the forthcoming show.

The controversial Doherty's latest album, Grace/Wastelands, is apparently getting the right reception from influential music critics who are giving it the big thumbs-up.

The 30-year-old will also be performing a trio of solo shows this week at The Rhythm Factory, in Whitechapel, the site of his last on-stage reunion with former Libertines bandmate Carl Barat.

However, his troubled personal life is still making waves across the water.

Last month saw him charged with possessing heroin. He was bailed to appear later this month.
