Jonny plans super-swish summer nuptials in castle

Rugby ace Jonathan Sexton may have limped off injured during the Six Nations defeat to England that put an end to Ireland's Grand Slam hopes.

But at least the 27-year-old has a suitably lavish wedding to look forward to this summer when he walks down the aisle with his long-term partner Laura Priestly, (27).

The Herald has learned that the pair have booked the super-swish Adare Manor in Limerick as the venue for their forthcoming nuptials as the childhood sweethearts make things official.

Given the Ireland players' hectic schedules during the summer months, the nuptials will take place this July, in between the crucial Lions tour and the start of pre-season training in France, where Sexton will be playing.

And shelling out for the €130-a-head wedding package shouldn't prove too much of a headache for the outhalf, given that he recently signed a two-year deal worth an estimated €750,000-a-year with Racing Metro.

Last month, the rugby hero, who's a favourite to be named the Lions Test fly-half, became the first regular Ireland international to have accepted such an offer in France in a massive blow to the IRFU.

However, before he moves over permanently, he'll first have to tackle his wedding ceremony to his gorgeous fiancee, who is a qualified teacher.

A source said: "They're both really excited. They've been together so long now that they wanted to make the day really special and push the boat out and it should be a brilliant day."
