Jenson races into town and parties at top gear in Lillie's

THE party posse was out in force over the weekend, with Formula One superstar Jenson Button leading the way.

The 32-year-old touched down on Saturday ahead of his appearance at the Bavaria City Racing event in the capital and paid a visit to a number of well-known haunts.

Taking in the Dublin sights before donning his Vodafone McLaren suit yesterday, he kicked off the festivities with a dinner with pals in Castle Market's Jo Burger restaurant.

Jenson and a number of close friends then went on the paint the town red, by taking to the dance floor at the Grafton Lounge.

He arrived under tight security with a convoy of blacked-out jeeps and joined by a group of racing pals.

A spokesperson for the venue told the Diary that Jenson was delighted to be in town.

"He seemed to be having a great night and was dancing the night away with his friends and he happily posed for photos with fans as well."

The sporting star continued the evening across town and made a pit stop at Bono's favourite hotspot, Lillie's Bordello -- where he proudly showed off his DJing skills.

Other familiar faces at the night club included actor Alan Cummings, rugby pundit Brent Pope, master chef Dylan McGrath, model Kristi Kuudisiim and TV star Brendan O'Connor, who was relaxing after hosting his final Saturday Night Show of the season.
