Jedward snatch prime slot at Eurovision

JEDWARD will close the show in this year's Eurovision semi-finals.

And their road manager Liam McKenna said the news provided a considerable boost to the boys.

"Jedward will perform last in the second semi-final, it's amazing news. It's the best possible position for them as obviously voting will open immediately after the last act, so they'll still be fresh in people's minds," he said.

Jedward will be taking to the stage on May 12 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The 19-year-old twins will perform their hit Lipstick which is currently number 3 in the Irish singles chart.

Despite a wave of criticism, the X Factor stars beat off competition from four other acts to emerge triumphant from last month's Eurosong competition on a special edition of The Late Late Show.

Eurovision king Johnny Logan launched a blistering attack on the young stars and claimed that RTE bosses have destroyed the singing competition for Ireland, labelling them "the masters of their own destruction".

Logan, who has won the Eurovision three times, gave an interview where he branded the Grimes brothers embarrassing.

But TV viewers clearly disagreed and voted in their droves to make them the Eurosong winners.

Jedward are currently riding high on their success, having landed a €200,000 cash bonanza from a new ad campaign for Hyundai.

The ad will feature huge names Ryan Reynolds, Jim Carey and Leonardo Di Caprio.

Lipstick will be the new soundtrack to a car manufacturer's advertisement in Asia.

A source said that the advertisement was only available in Asia but fans should be able to view it on the internet.

"The rights are only for Asia but no doubt it will be on YouTube so everyone will see it," he said.
