TALK about a transformation - Wicklow native Jack Reynor has been hitting the gym with a vengeance ahead of his leading role in 'Transformers 4'.
And the pull-ups and protein shakes are clearly paying off.
The previously baby-faced star is all man as he flexes his muscles in a Hollywood pool.
Fellow actor Eoin Macken posted a picture of himself and What Richard Did star Jack in an LA pool, alongside Jack's girlfriend Madeline Mulqueen.
Beside the picture, Merlin actor Macken wrote: "Before this f***er transforms into the future we swam around a bit."
Ex-Belvedere boy Reynor headed out to LA several months ago with his Madeline to get in tip-top shape ahead of filming.
"I'm training intensely. And I'm going to keep that up until we shoot," he said at the time.
And it looks like Jack has been getting plenty of tips from 22-year-old Madeline, who qualified as a fitness trainer earlier this year.
Madeline and Jack began flirting on Twitter and made their first public appearance together at this year's IFTAs where Jack picked up the gong for best actor.
At the time, cynics doubted their relationship would last the duration of the ceremony, but the two seem completely loved-up.
When Jack hopped on a plane stateside, Madeline was right by his side and sources say the pair are going from strength to strength.
"Madeline is having an absolute blast," a friend of the pair said.
"How could she not be? She's over in the States and she's totally smitten. She's soaking up the sun and spending a lot of time with Jack. Everything is fantastic.
"At first, some people thought there relationship was going to be a bit of a flash in the pan, but she's mad about him."
And 22-year-old Jack seems equally smitten. Speaking with the Herald earlier this year he said he couldn't get enough of Limerick native Madeline.
"She's a great girl and I love being around her – she's fantastic," he said.
Jack will be taking over the leading role in Transformers from Shia LaBeouf. He will join a new cast led by Ted star Mark Wahlberg and Bates Motel actress Nicola Peltz. Michael Bay says it was Reynor's chutzpah that landed him the role.
"I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4," he wrote on his website earlier this year. "An Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket – pretty ballsy."
