I've banned all friends from seeing my panto debut - nervous Nadia

MODEL Nadia Forde has banned all her pals from coming to see her in her forthcoming Christmas panto -- as she's so nervous about the new role.

Nadia (23) will shortly be swapping the catwalk for a crown as she starts rehearsals for her role as the Good Queen in the Cheerios panto Snow White in two weeks' time.

But the Diary can reveal she's already quaking in her designer shoes at the thought of performing in front of hundreds of people, including many of her pals from the modelling industry, including Michele McGrath.

"I am excited, but really nervous, too. You agree to these things months in advance and it's OK to perform in front of two or three people.

"But when the time comes closer, you're like, 'I can't believe I'm going to be performing in front of two or three hundred people'. It's a terrifying thought," she said.

"All the girls want to come to the opening night and I'm like 'no way.' They can wait until the middle of the run.

"It's one thing getting up there in front of a load of strangers. It's much scarier doing it in front of your friends."

This is her first time in pantomime, following in the footsteps of fellow beauties Pippa O'Connor, Aoife Cogan and Jenny Lee Masterson.

But given that Nadia is a former student of the Billie Barry Stage School and also was a finalists for Louis Walsh's girlband Wonderland, she harbours a passion for performing.

"It was definitely a route I wanted to go down, but it's been something that I might not have had the courage to do before," she continued.

"But with all the modelling that I've done, as well as bits of TV work, it's helped build up the confidence, so I now can't wait to give it a go."

Nadia will join stars like Alan Hughes and Niamh Kavanagh in the pantomime, which will premiere at the Tivoli Theatre.

The well-known beauty has also been busy pursuing a television career, having appeared as a contestant on TV3's Celebrity Salon 3, as well as being chosen as the love interest in Luke Bingham's music video for his new single, Gemini, which was shot in London.

And despite having no shortage of offers, she's also been 'happily single' since her split last summer from Leinster rugby star Luke Fitzgerald.

Nadia, who'll be helping launch Liquid nightclub this Sunday, has been spotted hitting the tiles in celebrity haunts like Lillie's Bordello recently and says that she's "just having fun" with her friends as she concentrates on her career.
