DUBLIN is set to be gripped by Bieber fever as tickets for the teen sensation's Dublin gig go on sale this week.
Just days after he swept the board at the prestigious American Music Awards, Aiken Promotions are preparing for hysteria when tickets to Justin Bieber's My World Tour go on sale this Thursday.
The Canadian-born teen sensation announced this week that he is bringing his current tour to Irish shores for two nights in the O2 on March 8 and 9, 2011.
And a spokesperson told the Herald, that they expect demand for tickets to his only two Irish gigs to be on a par with shows by Miley Cyrus last year, when many young fans were left disappointed.
"The feedback has been unreal," said Aiken's Sinead Watters. "We're expecting tickets to be sold out in 15-20 minutes, if that. He's as big as Miley Cyrus, so it will be the same level of demand."
And parents have been warned to be extra cautious about where they source their tickets for the gigs as they will be the only Irish dates Bieber can fit into his touring schedule this year.
Sinead said: "We would encourage parents to only buy their tickets from official sales outlets because touts are likely to be selling fake tickets.
"It's still happens a lot, especially for shows with this kind of demand."
This will be the first time the 16-year-old singer has played in Ireland and he confirmed the dates himself via Twitter during the week.
Bieber, who is signed to his mentor Usher's record label, was the star of the show at the Los Angeles awards on Sunday night, winning all four gongs he was nominated for -- entertainer of the year, breakthrough artist of the year, favourite pop/rock male and favourite pop/rock album for My World 2.0.
His debut album is one of the year's top-sellers in Ireland and his ascension marks a phenomenal rise since first garnering attention via homemade videos on YouTube about three years ago.
Having recently celebrated six million Twitter followers, he also boasts nearly 15 million fans on Facebook and over a billion views on YouTube.
His debut single One Time was released worldwide in 2009 and was followed by his debut album My World, which was certified platinum in the US.
He was the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100. My World 2.0 was released in March and has spawned the top 10 singles Baby and Eenie Meenie. His new album My Worlds -- The Collection was released on Monday.
Tickets for the gigs go on sale on Thursday at 9am, priced €59.80 via the official booking line 0818 719 300 and online at aikenpromotions.com or Ticketmaster.ie.
