Grainne Seoige has sent the rumour mill in to overdrive that she is on the verge of inking a deal to get cosy on the GMTV sofa later this year.
The gorgeous RTE star, who donned her gladrags for a late night of partying at the Walkers TVNow Awards, told the Diary she is unable to confirm or deny the persistent rumours.
Responding to speculation she is 'a shoo-in' to become part of the show's much hyped new line-up in the autumn, good-natured Grainne exclusively told the Diary: "You can't ask me that cheeky question. I can't talk about it."
The 36-year-old enjoyed a hugely successful trial run on the popular show last month and ITV bosses are rumoured to be in the midst of hashing out the final details of an irresistible offer for the Galway-born presenter.
Grainne's sudden coyness to discuss her future at RTE is unlikely to reassure bosses in Montrose that she is still 100pc committed to working at the national broadcaster.
Grainne admitted to the Diary that she had a great time and got on really well with the other presenters on GMTV, including hunky outgoing host Ben Shephard.
"Ben is just fantastic, he's really great," she said.
But despite Grainne's desire to keep her lips sealed for the moment, a close friend of the sultry brunette said: "There is huge interest in Grainne in the UK and it would be crazy to ignore it.
"Some people have felt for a long time that she is wasted in RTE; she hasn't done very much for them apart from the All Ireland Talent Show in the last year.
"She's looking better than ever, she's great fun and has always been ambitious. She's a hard worker and I'm sure she would love to see how far she could go in the UK as she loves new challenges.
"But there are other factors involved. She is very much a home-bird and a family person. Her son Conall is still in school so she is unlikely to uproot him or her career until he finishes his Leaving Cert and that won't be this year.
"She certainly has a lot to think about right now. She has to be very careful to play her cards right but it's very exciting for her," she added.
Regardless of her decision, friends say Grainne is in a win-win position as outside offers will enable her to renegotiate an even more lucrative salary if she decides to remain at RTE. Grainne certainly showed she is peak physical condition to nab a new top job as she showed off her super toned body in a figure hugging dress at the glitzy Krystle after-party.
The yummy mummy, who hit the town with younger sister Sile and friends after the awards, has become something of a gym-bunny of late since signing up as a member to BodyByrne.
Sister Sile also wowed onlookers with her slim curves in a leopard print body-con frock.
It was a girls' night out for the sisters who left their other halves at home.
Family was also on the brain for father-to-be Baz Ashmawy, who admitted he checked his phone constantly to ensure everything was okay with his girlfriend Tanya, who is due to give birth to their first baby in three weeks.
