Is Colin going into the west?

NO, Tayto from Into The West isn't back for a sequel.

But Hollywood hero Colin Farrell may be drawing inspiration from the legendary Irish film for his latest role.

The Castleknock native looks slicker than ever playing the role of Irish burglar Peter Lake in his new film Winter's Tale, based in Manhattan.

And the father-of-two looks at ease gallantly riding bareback on a white pony -- an image that could be taken straight out of Into The West.

Colin has ditched the futuristic Total Recall clothing and hairstyle and instead has grown out his locks, which have been smoothed back off his face.

The grandfather shirt and tailored jacket evoke a true sense of the film's 19th century setting.

Colin (36) only learned how to ride a horse a few years ago -- for the blockbuster Alexander which starred Angelina Jolie and Val Kilmer.

His latest film is an adaptation of Mark Helprin's 1983 novel and follows the story of Peter, who falls in love a with a dying woman, played by Downton Abbey's Jessica Brown Findlay, when he breaks into her mansion in Manhattan.

Colin is currently filming on location in Brooklyn.

The Dubliner has a busy workload at the moment with several films in the pipeline, including Saving Mr Banks -- a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Disney classic Mary Poppins.
