PREGNANT presenter Aisling O'Loughlin is "thrilled" to see her pal Anna Daly become a mum.
The Xpose star said she was delighted to hear that her TV3 colleague gave birth to a baby boy.
She told the Herald that she could not be happier that everything went according to plan for Anna.
"It was as a lovely surprise -- we all thought she'd give birth to a girl because of the way she was carrying -- you know how all these wives' tales go around.
"It's such great news and I'm delighted for her," the mum-to-be said.
Anna, who co-presents popular weekday morning show Ireland AM, welcomed her bundle of joy into the world on Monday night, with husband Ben Ward by her side.
"There was great excitement from day one because audiences got to watch Anna as she grew bigger and as the pregnancy progressed."
Aisling, who announced her own baby news in June, said she cannot wait to meet baby James and to congratulate Anna and Ben in person.
"Anna sent the girls in the office a picture of James from her phone only an hour after he was born and he looks absolutely stunning. We're giving her time to rest for the moment before we go to see them," she added.
Following in Anna's footsteps, 32-year-old Aisling is due to become a first-time mum later this year.
"It's a huge relief for them now and that everything is okay," the presenter said of new parents Anna and Ben.
"It's a very happy time for them."
The Shannon native joined TV3's entertainment programme Xpose in 2006 and is looking forward to motherhood.
She has decided to continuing living on her own at her home in Clondalkin once her baby arrives later this year -- while boyfriend and photographer Nicholas MacInnes will split his time between Paris and Dublin.
"I kind of like the idea of living separately," the Xpose reporter has said.
"The important thing is we're both happy about the pregnancy but there is definitely going to be a different way of doing things."
Aisling has already met the children of father-of-two Nicholas.
"I just want to be very gentle about the whole thing as much as possible, but this child is going to have two half-brothers and I'm really happy about that," she said.
