PREGNANT TV star Aisling O'Loughlin will be bidding a temporary farewell to viewers at the end of this month as she goes on maternity leave.
The Xpose presenter is preparing for the impending arrival of her baby boy -- and will be finishing up on the entertainment programme at the end of this month.
"I'm feeling ready to take the step, I'll be gone until June, so it'll be a big change," the Clare native told the Herald.
Aisling (32), who is due to give birth to her first baby on December 17, intends on "eating and watching TV in lounge clothes" in the weeks up to her labour, insisted she has no fears about the birthing process.
"I'm not nervous about the labour, there's just no point because I have to go through it one way or another.
"He's in breech at the moment so a C-section is a definite possibility, but so be it, I just have to get on with it."
The broadcaster has had a relatively "easy going" pregnancy since announcing the news over the summer and heard at her scan this week that all is looking positive as she gets closer to her due date.
"I'm delighted, he's a big fella and he's doing fine, which is the biggest relief in the world," she said.
When not in front of the cameras, Aisling is busy getting stuck into final preparations for her baby boy's nursery.
"I'm trying to get organised in between work, it's all about nesting at the moment. I'm scrubbing the place to make sure my home is domesticated before he arrives."
And she wants to reassure viewers that she won't vanish from the showbiz world.
"It's a big deal and you want to prioritise your child, but I will be out and about over the next while -- I'm not going to disappear completely," she said.
