I'm craving chips and ketchup – mum-to-be Aisling

PREGNANT TV3 star Aisling O'Loughlin is struggling with her cravings.

The 33-year-old is pregnant with her second child with partner, photographer Nicholas MacInnes. The couple are parents to 18-month-old son Patrick, and busily preparing for their next little arrival who is due in December.

And while many think Aisling should be taking it easy and give into those cravings, the Xpose presenter said she's trying to follow doctor's orders.

"I feel that I am eating all around me so it's not easy," Aisling told the Herald.

"My doctor actually told me that I'm eating too much and have been putting on weight so I'll have to watch it from now on. My friends were like, 'I can't believe that he said that to you, you're so slim', but I think he's right," explained the chatty blonde.

"It's important to get the right balance of diet and exercise when you are expecting but it's just hard when you are a working mum and starving all the time."

Aisling says she is going to make more of an effort to watch what she eats and take the healthy option although her cravings are not making it easy.

"All I have been craving are chips with loads of salt and ketchup, not exactly a diet's dream," laughed Aisling.

Starving

The blooming mum says she has been doing her best to go for the healthy option and to get out walking when she can.

"I am enjoying my pregnancy, I am starving all the time but I think I am getting used to watching what I eat.

"I am also busy running around after Patrick so that will help keep me sane."

When it comes to baby advice, Aisling couldn't be in a better environment as a veritable baby boom is currently taking hold of TV3.

Several of Aisling's colleagues, including Anna Daly, have recently had babies and the presenter says it's nice to have friends who are going through the same experience.

"We don't sit around talking about it all the time, you don't want to bore the ears off someone going on about babies, but there are certainly plenty of us who understand," explained Aisling.

The presenter says she is trying to maintain her impeccable style as her bump continues to grow and her TV3 friends are helping out as much as they can.

"It's great because Sybil Mulcahy brought me in two shopping bags full of maternity clothes recently so she's been great, I had a great root through that.

"I think Kate Middleton is doing great things for pregnant women and I do like wearing pretty dresses but it's important not to over-do it as well. Everyone has their off days where they just want to cover their bump and that's okay too," she added.
