I'll miss the soccer, admits new Xpose star Kirsteen

SPORTS presenter Kirsteen O'Sullivan has revealed she can't wait to tune in to the Champions League and actually enjoy it for a change.

The 32-year-old is covering for mum-to-be Aisling O'Loughlin on TV3's Xpose for the next six months.

"I plan to watch it from the comfort of my sofa with a glass of wine instead of having to watch five matches at once for work -- I'm very excited about that," Kirsteen told the Herald.

Her last mid-week Champions League spot aired on Tuesday night.

"I love the football and I did feel a little upset leaving the studio, but in TV I don't think you ever close doors.

"The footie starts up again in February and while I'm going with the flow for now, it's doubtful I'd be able to do both jobs. Xpose is very hectic and there's only so much one person can do -- I don't want to be a walking zombie.

"Having come from a fabulous team of boys, I'm enjoying the camaraderie with girls for a change."

The Scottish native, who is relishing being "unashamedly girly", stepped in to her new role at the Ballymount station in November and admitted to feeling nervous during her first official Xpose interview.

"My first job on the team was to interview Tommy Hilfiger in London and I was like a jellyfish, I was so nervous and jittery.

"It's definitely been a whirlwind and I've really been chucked into the deep end so there's a lot of pressure, but I'm really enjoying it -- it's been a mad rush since I started and I'm working very hard."
