I missed Rob on my Arctic adventure

TV babe Susie Amy has revealed how one of the worst things about taking part in a new reality show was being away from boyfriend Rob Kearney.

The brunette beauty is the envy of hundreds of rugger huggers after scoring a love match with the hunky 24-year-old Leinster star.

However, she has admitted that it is tough sometimes fitting her love life into her hectic schedule, given that she's still living in Britain and Rob is Dublin-based.

The Footballers Wives' star said it became especially hard after filming new ITV programme 71 Degrees North, a gruelling show which saw her competing with other celebrities including Gavin Henson and Shane Richie.

"The show's out in September, I don't know the exact date but I'm really looking forward to seeing it," Amy (29) explained. "One of the hardest things was we had no phones, so I hadn't spoken to Rob or anyone back home for a while and you're thinking of them the whole time and you just want them to know that you're happy and you're doing okay."

Described as "one of the toughest ever adventure reality shows", the programme was filmed inside the Arctic Circle and saw 10 celebrities competing to make it to North Cape, despite the daunting conditions.

Each week saw them taking on a different challenge, which included mountain trekking, skiing, ice swimming, ice climbing, reindeer herding and cross-ing vast expanses of snowy landscape on dog sleigh.

"It was absolutely freezing. We were sleeping in tents the whole time without any showers or home comforts. If it got colder than minus 30, we had to be moved to alternative accommodation and I don't mean a hotel or anything like that. It was tough going," she continued.

"I had to get really fit before filming it so I was doing lots of power walking and running to get in shape.

"But I really enjoyed it, I think I surprised myself. Lots of people said to me, 'I can't believe that you did that' and before I took part, I wouldn't have believed I could have done it myself."

She jetted into Ireland earlier this week to unveil the new range of Reebok EasyTone trainers, while also catching up with her other half Rob.
