I didn't say Tubs show is rubbish, insists Miriam

RTE star Miriam O'Callaghan is in Twitter trouble again.

The Prime Time host has denied that she thought last Friday's Late Late Show was "rubbish".

But she may have to explain to Montrose bosses exactly what happened after her online account retweeted a user who posted: "Okay we're all agreed that tonight's #lls (Late Late Show) is complete and utter rubbish."

The mum-of-eight was quick to distance herself from the criticism of Ryan Tubridy, saying her site had been hacked.

She reassured her 28,485 followers that she was not on Twitter at the time, saying "if someone has retweeted something it's not me as I am at my precious mum's birthday dinner. Not me -- hacked!"

Tubridy has been under severe pressure in recent weeks after the Late Late Show haemorrhaged viewers in its first two weeks of the new season.

His line-up on Friday night included Big Brother winner Paddy Doherty, actor John Hurt and Senator David Norris.

This is the third time that popular presenter Miriam has landed in hot water over her tweets.

Last year, she blamed one of her twins for a cheeky post about her youngest daughter.

"Jessica may be my youngest daughter -- but she has always been my pride and joy. I don't think I tell her enough. She is simply amazing."

But Miriam took that 'hack' well, responding: "16-year-old daughter Jessica wants to be a comedian when she grows up -- hence her hacking into my Twitter. Slow and painful torture to follow."

Miriam was also criticised for breaking news of broadcaster Gerry Ryan's death online before RTE's official announcement.
