I WOULD like to make an open apology to Sinead O'Connor. Last week, I wrote about her stated intention to renew her marriage vows with Barry Herridge and sarcastically commented that "I give it a week".
On Saturday, Sinead announced a change of heart. Following doctors' advice, she is going to avoid personal relationships, but herself and Barry "will hang out as friends while I do what I need to do."
In elaborating on exactly what that is, Sinead wrote: "I don't intend to live like a nun. I intend to have 'meaningless sex' if I can do so in safe environments with safe people."
So, my sincere apologies to Sinead for suggesting that it would be a week before she'd change her mind.
She actually lasted 10 days.
