Huge Toys 4 Big Boys show rolls into town

It's the adult equivalent of Santa's workshop -- and the annual Toys 4 Big Boys extravaganza looks set to be more impressive than ever when it kicks off next week.

Excitement is already building ahead of the ninth year of the event, which rolls into the RDS in Dublin from November 11-14.

The Herald will be revealing full details of a new special offer for tickets to the event, which will be available to all our readers next week.

Set to attract 30,000 visitors from gadget-obsessed macho men to adrenaline-loving ladies, the event is the perfect place to feast your eyes on the stuff of dreams -- and also pick up a few early Christmas pressies.

Speaking about this year's jam-packed show, organiser John McDonald said: "We have expanded the show in line with consumer demand and we now showcase everything from outdoor adventure, lifestyle, digital, action, cars, Lad's Pad, fashion and celebrity."

And he explained that, despite its title, the event will also appeal to its hoards of female fans again this year.

"It's not just lads and their buddies who come, one third of visitors are female along with families looking for something fun to do at the weekend, and grandparents who come to buy early Christmas presents."

Among the highlights are the brand new Becks Vier Live Stage, which will showcase the up and coming talent of young rock musicians and bands, the Irish Youth Music Awards and a 300 square metre Motoring Pavilion where you can drool over some of the hottest cars and bikes.
