Hotelier Bill launches art book

A host of famous faces from the worlds of showbiz, literature and art were out in force for the launch of the eagerly awaited new book for charity by renowned Rosslare hotelier and art collector Bill Kelly.

For The Love Of Art -- The Kelly Collection is a portable representation of the bulging collection of both traditional and contemporary paintings at the four-star Kelly's Resort and Spa.

Bill told the Diary that the book offers detailed understanding of the paintings with a refreshing new casual approach.

"I'm thrilled with the turn-out. We started doing the book about two and a half years ago so it's been a very slow process but it was all worth it. Guests of the hotel encouraged us to do it initially.

"One of the things I didn't realise when I went into the business was the influence of art on the whole working of the hotel -- that has been the biggest eye opener."

RTE star Mary Kennedy, GOAL's John O'Shea, top Irish artist Neil Shawcross and award-winning author John Quinn were just some of the celebs to turn out for the champagne bash in the Royal Hibernian Academy.

The €20 book is available for purchase from www.kellys.ie. All proceeds from sales will go to GOAL for Haiti.
