MISS Ireland Holly Carpenter was well down the rankings at 45 when Miss World was crowned last night.
THE 20-year-old brunette beauty didn't manage to land the top spot despite going into the competition as second favourite.
The Dubliner missed out to stunning Venezuelan Ivian Sarcos (21), who can now claim to be the most beautiful woman in the world.
Holly, from Raheny, went head-to-head with 111 gorgeous contestants over the past two weeks and appeared in a range of custom-made gowns at Earls Court in London.
Art student Holly, who said she wanted to channel Kate Middleton during the contest, was tipped among the favourites to win the pageant last week but was snubbed by the judges and placed only 45th in the line-up.
Herald columnist Rosanna Davison is the only ever Irish winner of the title.
