He sings, he judges, he smoulders - now Bressie tries hand at acting

SINGER Bressie is to try his hand at acting.

The Voice Of Ireland judge appears to be edging more and more towards TV these day -- and now he has bagged a cameo in Sky's Moone Boy.

Mullingar native Niall will be making his acting debut in the next series of Chris O'Dowd's hit comedy, the Herald can reveal.

The 31-year-old, who was recently voted the second sexiest man in Ireland, losing out to newly single Leinster player Rob Kearney, will play the part of a PE teacher in Sky's new comedy series.

Bressie is a big fan of the show and has been religiously watching the series, calling it "a whopper" and a "great feel-good show".

He joined the crew last week for a day of filming. Threesome star Amy Huberman was also on set in Wicklow town.

The 33-year-old actress and author will play the part of a kooky art teacher alongside Bressie.

Amy's brother Mark, who starred in Boy Eats Girl, also stars in the series as Mike.

O'Dowd went to UCD with both Bressie and Amy and enjoyed having his college crew on set.

"Funny stuff on Moone Boy set with new recruits," The Bridesmaid star tweeted. He went on to say that the duo were a "modern day Torvill and Dean or Cagney and Lacey".

The next series of Moone Boy will air next year.

But Bressie will be back on RTE tonight when he presents The Gathering -- Homeward Bound.

Niall is also gearing up for series two of RTE's The Voice, where he has a fan in new judge Jamelia. While the Superstar singer confessed that she had never heard any of Bressie's music, the mother-of-two said he was very easy on the eye.

"I hadn't heard of Bressie before I watched the show but I know who he is now."

"He's eye candy -- I still don't know any of his songs yet but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it! I am free to look at Bressie all day. I'm a big fan of the Irish accent."
