Gorgeous Nadia voted our top model

Congrats to brown-eyed girl Nadia Forde after she trounced fellow beauties to claim the Best Irish Model title.

She fought it out with leggy rivals like Georgia Salpa and Louise Kavanagh, to claim the accolade from showbiz website Entertainment in a poll of its readers.

The girlfriend of FM104 DJ Mark Noble told the Diary that she was naturally delighted to win the gong.

"The past year has been pretty amazing for me, especially with my job, so this has really topped it off.

"Those cold days in bikinis seem all worth it now," she said.

The poll also threw up a few surprises in celebland, given that Sean Munsanje has been voted as the Best Xpose Presenter, even though the Total Xposure winner has only been part of the team for the past six months.

"Winning this is a real thrill for me as it means people think I'm doing a good job on the show," he said.

Bill Cullen's show The Apprentice has also been usurped by some younger contenders in the form of ex model Michelle Doherty and Elton Mullally, who walked away with the title of Best Irish TV Show for their alternative music series When Under Ether.

And funnyman Andrew Maxwell is having the last laugh, despite his boozed-up performance at the Iveagh Gardens during the Carlsberg Comedy Festival last summer. "Not only am I delighted and honoured to have 'won' this award for Best Irish Comedian, I'm also pleased to have 'defeated' my fellow nominees," he quipped.

When it comes to the Sexiest Radio Voice, Rick O'Shea has been voted the winner while Ros na Run, which celebrated its 1,000th episode recently, won the Best Soap gong.

Other winners include Dublin-based rockers Delorentos who have bounced back with their incredible second album You Can Make Sound, while Culch.ie won the Best Irish Blogger title.
