Girls put on the glitz as Maire wins top honour

THE style stakes were sky high at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin last night for the annual Irish Tatler Woman of the Year Awards.

Some of our best-known ladies turned on the glam for the black-tie ball, which pays tribute to Irish women who have excelled in their field.

Attendees at the bash included Hollywood legend Maureen O'Hara, TV personality Lorraine Keane, wearing a stunning floor-length blue dress, alongside RTE broadcaster Claire Byrne who was in a plunging, metallic creation.

Also there was Herald columnist Rosanna Davison with her designer pal Dawn Fitzgerald as well as ITV's Grainne Seoige who was in a demure black number and TV3 headturner Anna Daly.

The overall award was presenter to EU Commissioner Maire Geoghan Quinn.
