Gillian loving life as GAA boss

IT will be a family affair for Gillian Quinn when the upcoming season of RTE reality series Celebrity Bainisteoir hits the small screen later this year.

The glamorous mum-of-two has revealed to the Diary how her two children, Aisling and Mikey, who both play Gaelic football, have been actively involved in preparing her for her new role as a GAA manager.

Gillian (39) has been assigned Ballyporeen football club for the annual reality show and husband Niall has also been spotted by his wife's side at recent sessions at the Tipperary club.

"I'm really looking forward to it coming out, we're only half way through filming so far," Gillian explained. "It's been great craic. I'm really enjoying it. The lads are great. They're really getting into it. I've brought a few people on board to give me a hand with the training sessions.

"Niall's best man is actually one of them, David Whelan. He was one of the coaches with the Dublin team so he's been kind of giving me a hand.

"He's great. I'd be lost without him. He'll come around a few days before I'm due to train again and we'll get the kids out in the back garden just so I know what I'm doing. Aisling used to play for Kildare. She's not doing it any more now because she's more kind of concentrating on the Leaving Cert next year.

"Mikey plays for a local GAA team. I'm actually coaching again on Friday night so the two kids are going to come down and give me a few pointers," she added.

Gillian will go head to head with other media personalities including Tony Cascarino, Brenda Donoghue, PJ Gallagher and Dana.
