Gerry's Dine With Me plans

Gerald Kean has revealed how Gerry Ryan had agreed to join him as a guest on a new home-produced version of hit show Come Dine With Me.

The solicitor, who has been approached to take part in a celebrity edition alongside wife-to-be Lisa Murphy, told the Diary he had invited Gerry to join him at the dinner party if the series goes ahead.

"I had said to him about coming along to one of those dinners where you cook for your friends on television and he said he'd be there, as long as he didn't have to return the favour," he laughed.

"There was nothing finalised but you could always be sure that Gerry would be a lively guest." The proposed Irish version of Come Dine With Me is expected to be aired by TV3 and is currently in the early stages of planning.

The series is expected to take on a slightly different format to the hit Channel 4 series.

"A few different possibilities have been thrown out there but it looks like it will be a number of celebrity couples instead of individual hosts cooking for their friends," said an insider.

"They have some big names in mind and are hoping to have it on television before the end of the year."
